Together to the Zugspitze for a Good Cause

In July 2026, it was time once again: a climb for a good cause. As the Hörluchs® Summiteers, 23 people from 15 hearing care businesses, together with three Hörluchs® employees, set off through the Reintal valley – their destination: the Zugspitze, Germany’s highest peak. The group was accompanied by three mountain guides, among them extreme athlete Hubert Schwarz.

What united them was more than the wish to reach the top: the shared will to make a difference. In the end, €16,500 stood on the donation cheque – raised by all participants and handed over to the Hubert & Renate Schwarz Stiftung, which supports children’s aid projects worldwide.

Two stages through the Reintal
The route to the Zugspitze, roughly 25 kilometres long, was completed in two stages. The starting point was the Olympic Ski Stadium in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. From there, the group hiked through the impressive Partnach Gorge, continuing past the Bock Hut and the Reintalangerhütte up to the Knorr Hut, where the first stage came to an end. The second day brought the final ascent across the Zugspitzplatt up to the summit – a route the group mastered with great team spirit and mutual support.

The moment at the summit
Once at the top, the emotional highlight of the tour followed: the group ceremonially handed over the donation cheque for €16,500 to the Hubert & Renate Schwarz Stiftung. A moment full of pride – for an achievement the participants had reached together. Afterwards, they took the Zugspitzbahn back down to the valley.

Third edition of a special tradition
With this year’s tour, Hörluchs® continued the Summiteers initiative from 2024 and 2025. In both previous years, hearing care specialists and employees of the Hersbruck-based company already came together for a good cause.

Never Stop Moving!
