Team Hörluchs® – Never Stop Moving

Team Hörluchs® is preparing for the Race Across America (RAAM) 2023. With the motto “Never Stop Moving”, four 80-year-olds start a record-breaking ride across the USA.

Friedrich Hager, Horst Luckey, Roland Fuchs and Paul Thelen show that old age and great goals are not incompatible. As ambassadors of hearing, the racers know exactly what a crucial role communication plays for them – whether on the track or during regeneration in the team vehicle. Hearing makes life colorful and connects people. It makes a significant contribution to an active lifestyle and ensures that people can move safely in road traffic.

Some of the riders wear hearing systems with titanium earmolds from Hörluchs® and custom-fitted in-ears for team communication. These are already used in professional sports by the BORA – hansgrohe cycling team.

Team start: 17. Juni 2023

From the Pacific to the Atlantic. From California to Maryland. 5,000 kilometers nonstop. 52,000 meters of altitude. Through three deserts, the Rocky Mountains, Great Plains and the Appalachians.

We are Team Hörluchs® – “Never Stop Moving”: Friedrich Hager, Horst Luckey, Roland Fuchs and Paul Thelen. We are the first 80+Team in the history of the Race Across America (RAAM) since the premiere in 1982 – and we know what we are talking about.

With over 80 years we want to show that

  • good hearing contributes significantly to an active lifestyle
  • top athletic performances are not an impossibility
  • a positive mindset and joie de vivre form the basis of any success
  • Goals in old age can be more than walking to the bakery in the morning
  • we can complete the route faster than the official time limit of 9 days
  • it does not work without support and a good team
